Are you a hands on business leader with full P&L ownership experience, capable of driving performance, structure, and growth within a commercially driven, operational environment? Do you want to take full ownership of a stable, profitable business at a key stage in its evolution?

This is a high impact opportunity to join a well established, Rotterdam based recycling and commodity trading business at a pivotal inflection point. The company is a respected operator in its market, growing rapidly across multiple sites and looking to continue that growth. With strong financial backing, the foundations are strong, but the next phase requires a commercially focused leader who can introduce greater discipline and define a clear strategic roadmap.

In this role, you will be responsible for full ownership of the business, leading across operations, commercial performance, people, and strategy. You will operate as a hands on Managing Director within a lean structure, driving performance improvements while maintaining a strong, close knit culture. You will be expected to bring a strong commercial mindset, with the ability to lead sales and business development activity while optimising operational delivery.

The ideal candidate will bring a proven track record of full P&L ownership within an industrial, logistics, processing, or commodity led environment. They will have demonstrated success in driving transformation, scaling performance, and implementing structure within a growing business. A pragmatic and visible leader, they will be comfortable operating without large support teams, combining strategic thinking with hands on execution and strong commercial acumen.

You will play a critical role in professionalising the organisation, strengthening operational leadership, and optimising performance within a commodity driven environment. Working closely with investors, you will define and execute a clear plan for growth, efficiency, and value creation.

To be eligible for this role, you will need to be fluent in both English and Dutch.

The Role:

• Full P&L ownership with accountability for overall business performance
• Lead operations across multiple sites, ensuring efficiency, structure, and performance discipline
• Drive commercial performance and business growth
• Provide hands on leadership across all functions, including HR within a lean structure
• Define and execute a clear strategic roadmap aligned with investor expectations
• Strengthen organisational structure, processes, and leadership capability
• Maintain and enhance a strong, team oriented culture while introducing greater accountability
• Operate effectively within a private equity backed environment, managing stakeholders and expectations

The Person:

• Need to be fluent in English and Dutch
• Proven experience in a Managing Director, General Manager, or equivalent role with full P&L responsibility
• Track record of delivering results in transformation, scaling, or performance improvement situations
• Comfortable operating in a hands on capacity within a lean organisation
• Leadership style that is visible, pragmatic, and culturally aware
• Experience working within investor backed or group structures is highly advantageous
• Not reliant on large teams or corporate infrastructure, with the ability to lead from the front
