Managing Director

Industrial Refrigeration Services Company; Salary: £100/120K Basic + Car + Bonus + Shares; Company Size: 17 Employees; Annual Sales: £7 Million.

About the Role

As Managing Director, you will have full responsibility for leading a skilled team ensuring operational excellence and commercial success across all departments. You will work closely with departmental heads and play a hands on role in strategic decision making.

Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations
  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all areas of the business.
  • Manage department heads, including:
    • Service Department - led by a Service Manager with a team of approximately 6 staff.
    • Project/Technical Department - a team of specialists working on design, specification, and quotation of industrial refrigeration projects.
    • Support and guide the technical sales team, including senior technical sales leads.
Commercial & Strategic
  • Drive business growth, profitability, and long term strategic planning.
  • Maintain strong customer relationships and support the development of new business opportunities.
  • Monitor financial performance, budgets, and forecasting to ensure ongoing stability.
  • Evaluate market trends, competitor activity, and potential recruitment opportunities within the competitor landscape.
About You
  • Proven experience managing multi disciplinary teams in a technical, engineering, HVAC, or industrial refrigeration environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen and a track record of driving profitable growth.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and people management skills.
  • The ability to identify, attract, and develop talent-including potentially recruiting from competitor organisations.
