About the Role:

As the Managing Director, you will be the strategic and operational leader of Sharp Manufacturing Company UK. You will set and execute long-term strategic objectives, drive transformational change, and foster a culture of high performance and continuous improvement. Reporting directly to Sharp Corporation Japan, you will ensure alignment with global corporate strategy and governance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Shape Strategic Direction:Define and implement medium- and long-term business strategies aligned with the broader European vision.
• Drive Sustainable Growth:Lead initiatives to grow the business amidst evolving market conditions by exploring new channels, products, services, technologies, and markets.
• Balance Profitability Goals:Collaborate with European leadership to align local, regional, and corporate profitability objectives, ensuring sustainable and profitable growth.
• Set Clear Business Priorities:Establish actionable short- and medium-term priorities that support the successful execution of the strategic plan.
• Monitor Performance Metrics:Develop and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure progress against strategic goals and business priorities.
• Communicate Strategy Effectively:Ensure consistent communication of strategy, priorities, and performance updates to local teams, senior management, and Japan stakeholders.
• Optimise Cost Efficiency:Focus on cost control and operational efficiency to maintain profitability and reinvest in growth opportunities.
• Strengthen Business Development Operations:Oversee a high-performing business development function with robust planning and pipeline management aligned with business goals.
• Enhance Sales Capabilities:Ensure the sales team possesses the skills and consultative approach needed to effectively expand the full portfolio of products.
• Align Business Development with Strategy:Develop plans that support strategic objectives and drive demand generation in close coordination with sales.
• Elevate Service Excellence:Build a data-driven, customer-focused service organisation that evolves with the business and delivers exceptional support.

• Contribute to the Wider Sharp Group Leadership:Actively participate in the Senior Japanese Leadership Team, shaping the future direction of the European business.
