Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
  • Lead a team of 8-10 schedulers who optimize waterborne logistics by coordinating with trading teams, suppliers, customers, and service providers. Schedulers handle nominations, tracking, optimization of product movements, and inventory management, ensuring safe delivery to market centers, customers, and Chevron refineries.
  • Promote a culture of innovation by leading process improvements, optimizing digital workflows, and minimizing manual effort and duplication across teams. Develop, revise, and improve operational procedures and training programs. Manage coverage and succession planning to guarantee that the scheduling team is consistently staffed and effectively meets organizational needs.
  • Build effective natural work teams and foster collaboration with Upstream, Enterprise Optimization, Refineries, Shipping, and other groups to drive value. Work closely with Credit, Risk, Finance, Legal, and support functions to ensure all business requirements are fulfilled. Build and maintain a strong network of industry contacts to enhance market intelligence.
  • Direct the team by proactively identifying and facilitating commercial initiatives that enhance financial performance. Initiatives may involve optimizing current trade activities, managing loading schedules and volumes to reduce freight and demurrage expenses, and offering commercial insights to traders.
Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in trading, petroleum product logistics, or related fields.
  • Excellent communication and mentoring skills, with a proven ability to influence and collaborate across functions & geographies.
  • Deep understanding of commodity markets (e.g., crude, refined products, natural gas, renewables) and the broader energy landscape.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, problem solving, and organizational skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Formal leadership or supervisory experience. Demonstrated ability to lead in a fast paced, dynamic environment with a digital first approach.
  • Experience scheduling or trading Chevron commodities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
