Our Internal Audit & Controls team provides confidence to clients and stakeholders through independent assessments of process and controls, utilizing internal audit skills, industry insight in Financial Services, and building strong relationships.
EY has a deep understanding of evolving Internal Audit requirements. We supported the development of the UK CIIA FS Code in 2013 and its subsequent updates in 2017 and 2024.
The opportunity
We are expanding our Financial Services Internal Audit & Controls practice and seek driven professionals with a background in this field. This role offers opportunities for growth, broader business knowledge, and relationship building across disciplines and borders.
Candidates should have experience in internal audit, risk, or controls projects, either as an internal auditor, advisor, or within an in-house Internal Audit function. Insurance experience is preferred.
Disruptive technologies like AI are influencing how internal controls add value. We're looking for individuals eager to drive the future of Internal Audit & Controls.
Your key responsibilities
Work with clients to ensure effective business activities through audit skills and industry insight specific to Insurance. Manage and collaborate on projects, build client relationships, and ensure quality standards are met. Support career development, contribute to thought leadership, and help develop client proposals.

Minimum qualifications
- At least a 2.1 degree or equivalent; professional qualification is a plus.
- 5-6 years of experience in controls, risk, regulatory, or internal audit in insurance.
- Understanding of insurance industry functions and regulation.
- Experience with regulatory reviews and compliance topics.
- Proficiency with IT platforms like MS Office and SharePoint.
- Strong communication skills and team leadership ability.
- Commercial awareness and problem-solving skills.
