Position Description

We are seeking an experienced Payments Manager to lead our Payments function, ensuring the accurate, timely, and secure execution of all payment activities across the business. This is a senior leadership role within Investment Operations, with full ownership of operational delivery, risk management, and team leadership. The successful candidate will play a key role in safeguarding cash movements, maintaining a robust control environment, and driving continuous process improvements.

What you'll do Leadership & Team Management
  • Lead, manage, and develop a team of supervisors and analysts.
  • Set clear objectives and drive performance.
  • Coach and support career development.
  • Manage capacity and workload prioritisation.
  • Foster a collaborative team environment with open communication and honest feedback to ensure a strong team dynamic and engaged team members.
SWIFT Messaging & Payment Systems
  • Strong working knowledge of SWIFT messaging standards.
  • Familiarity with the ISO 20022 migration.
  • Understanding of SWIFT connectivity setup, BIC/SWIFT code management, and message monitoring.
  • Experience with banking platforms and payment systems.
Operational Oversight
  • Oversee end-to-end payments lifecycle.
  • Ensure accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to controls.
  • Maintain oversight of approvals and audit documentation.
  • Act as escalation point for payment issues.
Risk & Control Management
  • Own and maintain control framework.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Mitigate operational and financial risk.
  • Maintain segregation of duties.
Process Improvement & Change
  • Drive automation and efficiency initiatives.
  • Implement best practices and standards.
  • Lead strategic and system enhancements.
Stakeholder Management
  • Build internal and external relationships.
  • Communicate payment status and risks clearly.
  • Support client service delivery.
Qualifications
  • 5+ years' experience in payments or financial services.
  • Experience managing teams.
  • Strong understanding of payment processes and controls.
  • Experience with incident management, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance in an operational environment.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, Accounting, or Business.
  • Fluency in English (verbal and written).
