We have an exciting opportunity for a talented technical and inclusive leader on our CoE team. This role requires self-drive, attention to detail, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and someone comfortable with being hands-on where required in a high-paced environment.

Description

As an Accessibility Lead and Manager on the team, you will:

  • Drive execution, governance, and continuous improvement across a focus area, working with cross-functional teams.
  • Understand the landscape of projects in the focus area by working and building relationships with key stakeholders in cross-functional teams.
  • Lead and mentor a team of accessibility subject matter experts, providing technical oversight, career development, and workload prioritization.
  • Support your direct reports in their technical reviews of designs, code, and testing methodologies, stepping in for hands-on review when needed.
  • Deliver regular progress updates to senior leadership, translating technical accessibility work into business impact and strategic recommendations.
  • Partner with product managers and engineering leads to integrate accessibility requirements into roadmaps and planning processes and advocate for accessibility resources and priorities in cross-functional discussions.
  • Lead and contribute to internal accessibility initiatives including training program development, awareness events, technical documentation, and cross-functional education that builds organizational capability.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Demonstrable experience in hiring, mentoring, and managing the performance of staff.
  • Strong experience in front-end engineering or designing and developing applications in Web, iOS or macOS.
  • Understanding of WCAG 2.x guidelines and Apple Human Interface Guidelines.
  • Knowledge of accessibility features built into Apple products and other assistive technologies.
  • Ability to communicate and influence senior executives and stakeholders using excellent negotiation skills.
  • Ability to make hard calls when dealing with complexity, conflicting priorities and aggressive schedules.
  • A passion for new technologies and continuous learning.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Proficiency in web application development using web technologies, including front-end frameworks and accessible implementations.
  • Result-oriented and demonstrates the high degree of ownership and accountability.
  • Promotes a team environment that values, supports and encourages differences.
