Job overview

We are looking for a full time permanent Mammographer at The Park Centre for Breast Care in Brighton. This is a Band 7 post, but we would be willing to consider applications from UK qualified and state registered Radiographers who wish to train to become a Mammographer, in which case the role would be Band 5 Trainee Mammographer post, moving to Band 6 on successful completion of the Post Graduate Certificate in Mammography, and then to a Band 7 with additional responsibilities, when completing one year post qualification clinical experience.

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant will work as part of the Mammographic multi-disciplinary team for East Sussex, Brighton and Hove Breast Screening Service, providing a professional service of the highest quality, in line with the standards and guidelines set out by the NHSBSP across the full range of mobile and static breast screening sites.

They will also be responsible for providing high quality breast imaging and patient care for the Symptomatic Breast Service, for patients in Brighton and East Sussex.

Person specification
  • Demonstrates understanding and experience within Breast Imaging and the NHSBSP
  • Demonstrates an understanding of, and is willing to train to gain experience in Breast Imaging
  • Demonstrates an understanding and experience of the importance of communication and patient care in Mammography
  • Demonstrates an understanding about the importance of communication and patient care in another setting, but willing to learn within Breast Imaging
Practical
  • Willingness to travel and understanding of the area covered by the East Sussex, Brighton and Hove Breast Screening Service
  • Has a full UK driving licence and the use of a car to travel to all screening sites as needed
Question
  • State Registered Radiographer with UK Post Graduate Certificate of Competence in Mammography
  • State Registered Radiographer willing to work towards Post grad Certificate of Competence
