The shift pattern for this post is Monday to Sunday, 0800 - 2000, with flexible extended working hours. Both full-time and part-time permanent positions are available. Please note that the salary is pro-rata for part-time roles.
We are seeking motivated radiographers to join our team at the West of Scotland Breast Screening Service (WSBSS). The service offers mammography screening to 315,000 women every three years, either at a static centre or on mobile units. About 4-5% of women screened are invited for further assessment at review clinics in Glasgow.
The area covered includes Greater Glasgow, Argyll and Clyde, Lanarkshire, and West Forth Valley Health Boards. As a mammographer, your main responsibilities will include conducting mammography screening X-ray examinations, providing direct care for women attending mobile units and/or the static centre, undertaking additional specialised X-ray procedures, and participating in interventional radiological techniques during review clinics. You will also supervise and train students and junior staff.
Requirements for the role include:
- HCPC Registration
- BSc (Hons) Degree in Radiography or equivalent
- Post-Graduate Certificate in Mammography or equivalent
