Location: Stamullen, County Meath. Day Shift, covering Thursday to Saturday, 12 hour shift (7am-7pm).
Job OverviewMaintenance Technician (Permanent) responsible for ensuring machine change overs, stoppages and breakdowns are undertaken in a timely fashion, while maintaining all equipment and plant to operate safely, efficiently and in compliance with GMP practices.
Other duties include fault finding on electrical and mechanical systems, programming PLCs, participating in projects to improve or create new processes, designing systems, implementing continuous improvements, and managing MOCs through the QMS.
Responsibilities- Ensure safe work practices are followed and report any near misses to the EHS Department.
- Maintain maintenance areas and equipment in a clean, tidy and secure state.
- Adhere to and record defined routine maintenance schedules for all equipment and plant.
- Respond rapidly to breakdowns and stoppages to minimise loss of production, liaising with the Engineering Supervisor and Operational Engineering Manager.
- Participate in A3 problem solving activities on major issues and lead to root cause.
- Analyse equipment and redesign systems or equipment to improve process.
- Plan and implement engineering improvement projects, designing and developing to validation.
- Advise supervisors of any machine or plant requiring major repair or maintenance.
- Identify potential areas for improvement within the production area regarding equipment or procedural changes; liaise with Production to implement changes using correct change procedures.
- Strip down, clean and reassemble production equipment per routine maintenance schedules.
- Perform machine set ups and change overs to target times as required by production; improve change over times by procedure and method.
- Ensure timely and accurate completion of all documentation and paperwork such as tooling logs, setting sheets, online working sheets and PPM sheets.
- Assist with training colleagues as required.
- Use workshop equipment to manufacture parts and repair as required.
- Assist with projects on trials and new product introductions as required.
- Carry out various additional tasks that may be required from time to time in accordance with the overall goal of the company.
- Advanced Certificate (Craft level 6 NFQ) in a mechanical or electrical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree or Diploma in Engineering / Certificate in Engineering.
- 4 years' experience in a GMP or regulated environment.
- Proven track record of delivering results through management/leadership.
- Capability to follow clear goals, communicate them, and ensure progress to completion meeting predefined targets.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks.
- Problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Dynamic and proactive approach to managing problems.
- Self motivated with a results driven approach.
- Flexibility to work across different shifts on request in line with business needs.
- Adaptable and collaborative.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word, etc.).
- Knowledge of health and safety and ability to cooperate with others.
- Experience in a GMP or regulated environment.
- Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Lean tools to develop continuous improvements.
