An exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join the Estates team of a 45 acre site, operating primarily within the maintenance and logistics function. The role is key to supporting the delivery of both planned and reactive maintenance services across a diverse site that includes listed buildings, residential units, educational facilities, offices, and medical centres.
Salary: £23,000 - £29,000 DOE
Hours: 37 hours per week, 8am - 4pm / 9am -5pm rota basis
Location: Lingfield

The Role:
The Maintenance Technician will work both independently and collaboratively, taking responsibility for day-to-day maintenance tasks, compliance reporting, and pool plant operations. The role also involves liaising with contractors and ensuring that all work is carried out to high standards, with a strong emphasis on health and safety compliance. TasksKey Responsibilities:
- Planning and managing daily maintenance activities, assessing jobs, specifying materials, and keeping accurate records using digital systems.
- Carrying out maintenance tasks using core trade skills, with flexibility to work across disciplines following appropriate training.
- Diagnosing faults, completing repairs, and ensuring workspaces are left safe and tidy.
- Supporting colleagues, liaising with suppliers, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations, including COSHH, fire safety, asbestos, and legionella.
- Maintaining strong communication with service users, promoting a professional image, and contributing to ongoing improvement and sustainability initiatives.
- Using and maintaining tools and equipment responsibly and participating in relevant training and performance reviews.
- Additional duties may be assigned in line with the role, and some out-of-hours work may occasionally be required with notice.
About You:
The ideal applicant will have a strong understanding of health and safety regulations, including COSHH, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements as well as experience in reactive, planned, and improvement works within a customer focused environment. However for the right person, with the right mind set, and some working experience in a similar setting there is some flexibility on the gained knowledge needed.
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet conflicting deadlines.
- Capable of working as part of a small team and supporting external contractors.
- Excellent fault diagnosis skills and ability to work from drawings and specifications.
- Strong communication skills, able to interact with staff, suppliers, and handle confidential information with discretion.
- Basic knowledge of digital systems and email.
- Physical fitness to perform tasks involving lifting, bending, stretching, and working in confined or awkward spaces.
- Comfortable working at heights and handling equipment such as ladders and mobile scaffolds.
