Job Description

Are you an experienced building surveyor or property professional looking for a role that is varied, people focused and makes a real difference?

We are seeking a Diocesan Maintenance Surveyor to play a leading role in the care, maintenance and improvement of clergy housing and other operational buildings across the Diocese of Worcester.

In this role you will ensure buildings are safe, well maintained and compliant, while contributing to the Diocese's environmental commitments, including the Church of England's ambition to reach Net Zero Carbon by 2030. Working closely with stakeholders across the Diocese you will:

Responsibilities
  • Lead on property maintenance and statutory compliance across the clergy housing portfolio
  • Manage inspections, diagnosis and specification of repairs, including planned, cyclical and reactive works
  • Provide professional property advice and clear communication to clergy, parish officers and diocesan staff
Qualifications

If you have experience in building surveying, property maintenance or construction project management, then we would like to hear from you.

This role will suit someone with strong technical knowledge, good organisational skills and the ability to explain technical issues clearly to non specialists. Practical problem solving skills and professional judgement will come into play working with a wide range of people.

Hours

Full time, 35 hours per week (mainly Monday to Friday with occasional evenings and weekends).

Location

A mix of home, parish and office based (central Worcester). This post will involve travel regularly. A current driving licence is essential unless suitable alternative arrangements can be made.
