Maintenance Skilled Tradesperson (Mechanical)

We are looking for a Skilled Tradesperson with a background in heating and/or plumbing to join the Derbyshire Support and Facilities Services Ltd estates team to work within our mechanical team in the estates workshop. The workshop provides a maintenance service to Chesterfield Royal Hospital NHS Foundation Trust and external clients.
The post-holder will need to demonstrate strong team working skills, have experience in a maintenance role, and be comfortable working to targets and independently. The role includes working on the on call rota with additional payments.
The post-holder will also support the building and electrical workshops as required, within the capabilities of their skills.

Qualifications & Training- NVQ3 in Plumbing/Heating (or equivalent experience).
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
- Significant post qualification training in plumbing, heating, ventilation or medical gas.
- Significant experience with commercial heating, plumbing and ventilation systems - maintenance and installation.
- Experience working as part of a team, supervising personnel when required.
- Experience using Computer Aided Facilities Management software to manage and complete jobs.
- Experience as a Medical Gas, Ventilation or Water Competent Person.
- Significant heating and/or plumbing experience.
- Able to use trade background to quickly learn new skills.
- Source information to correctly install materials and carry out installation work.
- Knowledge of statutory requirements for installation work and ability to locate relevant information.
- Use hand and power tools to produce work to an excellent standard.
- Read and understand engineering drawings within area of expertise.
- Enthusiastic, highly motivated, able to determine priorities and achieve them with initiative.
- Effective communication with customers, other departments, and hospital/RPC colleagues.
- Committed to continuous improvement and learning.
- Operate with high integrity.
- Flexible and adapt quickly to change.
- Resolve difficult conversations or matters tactfully.
