Maintenance Shift Engineer - Dunstable - up to £47,500 + Overtime & Bonus - No nights

Elevation Recruitment Group are delighted to be working on an exciting opportunity for a Maintenance Shift Engineer to join a leading manufacturing business at their Dunstable site. Salary: Up to £47,500Shift Pattern: 7am-7pm (2 days and 3 off, 3 days and 2 off)

Responsibilities:As Maintenance Shift Engineer, you will report directly to the Engineering Manager and play a vital role in maintaining and improving the operational and safety performance of the site machinery. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Carrying out routine plant checks across chillers, compressors, vacuum systems and other machinery
  • Assessing machinery and reporting any defects, ensuring unsafe equipment is prohibited from use
  • Troubleshooting and resolving breakdowns in collaboration with Shift Managers
  • Recording issues and corrective actions to ensure continuous improvement
  • Conducting stock checks and requesting parts when required
  • Supporting wider business success by carrying out ad-hoc engineering tasks as directed

The Person:We are looking for a proactive and skilled Maintenance Engineer with the ability to problem-solve under pressure while working collaboratively across teams. The successful candidate will have:

  • Proven experience within an FMCG environment (food or pharmaceutical advantageous)
  • Time-served apprenticeship (minimum Level 3) in mechanical or electrical engineering
  • Working knowledge of hydraulic and pneumatic systems
  • Hands-on experience with workshop tools and equipment (e.g. mitre saw, pillar drill, hand tools)
  • Strong attention to detail, logical problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude
  • Excellent organisational and interpersonal skills to manage time and build effective relationships
