Your future role
The Maintenance Planner is responsible for developing, coordinating, and optimising maintenance plans to ensure the safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of Alstom's rolling stock. This role plays a critical part in supporting operational performance by translating maintenance strategies into executable work plans, ensuring compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory standards.
The Maintenance Planner collaborates closely with engineering, operations, and supply chain teams to align maintenance activities with fleet availability targets and long-term asset management objectives.
We'll look to you for:
- Provide up to date information on fleet status to internal and external customers
- Ensure real time customer support and forward-facing defects are efficiently managed.
- Develop and manage daily maintenance plans using the Maintenance Management System (SAP GSI), ensuring alignment with operational priorities.
- Lead daily interface meetings with the production team to confirm focus on the correct maintenance priorities and adherence to the agreed plan.
- Prioritise work at the Depot to meet train availability requirements.
- Coordinate and chair maintenance planning meetings, ensuring alignment with the approved Vehicle Maintenance Schedule to maximise train availability.
- Liaise with contractors and suppliers through regular (daily/weekly) meetings to review progress, address issues, and ensure adherence to the maintenance plan.
- Monitor and analyse maintenance plans to identify potential delays or risks, escalating issues to contractors, Service Delivery Managers, or line management as appropriate.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in in SAP GSI, ensuring the system reflects real-time maintenance status across all assets.
- Input and manage data from multiple sources-including suppliers, contractors, production teams, and monitoring systems (e.g., Avis, Gotcha, Orbita)-to support accurate maintenance tracking and reporting.
- Perform data manipulation and analysis using internal and external reports to ensure all asset records are current and reflect true maintenance status.
- Escalate any blockers or deviations from plan to relevant stakeholders to enable timely resolution and maintain operational continuity.
- Managing configuration of assets within SAP GSI
- Optimize the depot usage
- Set, monitor and control planned maintenance including outstanding defects, reliability and safety checks
