Job Description

£26K to £28K (DOE) Leicester, LE4 Full time

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out routine maintenance tasks to ensure the proper functioning of essential systems such as plumbing, electrical, heating, and ventilation.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the premises to identify maintenance needs and address them promptly.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and perform necessary repairs or replacements.
  • Maintain cleanliness and safety standards in all maintenance work areas, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Assist in the procurement of maintenance supplies, equipment, and materials necessary for ongoing operations.
  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities using digital systems, including work orders and inventory management.
  • Collaborate with other staff members, including caregivers and management, to coordinate maintenance activities and ensure minimal disruption to resident care.
  • Provide courteous and responsive customer service to residents, their families, and other stakeholders, addressing maintenance-related concerns promptly and effectively.
Qualifications and Skills
  • Previous experience in a maintenance role, preferably in a healthcare or senior living.
  • Knowledge of basic maintenance tasks such as plumbing, electrical work, carpentry, and HVAC systems.
  • Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving maintenance issues.
  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact professionally with residents, staff, and external vendors.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, as well as collaboratively as part of a team.
  • Compassion, patience, and a commitment to providing a safe and comfortable environment for residents and staff.
  • Physical stamina and dexterity to perform manual labour tasks as required in a care home.
