Maintenance Operative luxury hotel

We are currently seeking a Maintenance Operative to join our Maintenance team at The Lodge at Ashford Castle. This full-time role is ideal for a proactive and hands on individual with strong attention to detail and a passion for maintaining the highest standards.

As part of the management team, you will play a key role in ensuring the hotel's facilities, equipment, and grounds are consistently maintained to an exceptional level, supporting both operational excellence and an outstanding guest experience.

Employment type: Full Time

Working pattern: 5 Days over 7 Days (including some weekends and Public Holidays)

Key Responsibilities as a Painter

• Liaise daily with Management, Maintenance, and Housekeeping teams to prioritise and coordinate all maintenance tasks
• Carry out all works to a high professional standard, ensuring minimal disruption to guests at all times
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment, using appropriate protective materials (e.g. dust sheets) and adhering to best practices
• Clearly display safety signage and maintain strong awareness of guest and colleague safety at all times
• Manage and maintain the maintenance store, ensuring it is kept organised, secure, and compliant with safety standards, including proper storage of any flammable materials
• Use ladders, scaffolding, and equipment safely and in line with Health & Safety procedures
• Take a flexible approach to working hours, including evening work where required to minimise guest disruption
• Work collaboratively with other departments (e.g. Porters, Grounds, Maintenance) to support the overall operation of the hotel
• Plan, prioritise, and complete tasks efficiently, escalating works and coordinating external contractors through the Maintenance Manager where required
• Support the wider maintenance function in a hands on capacity, assisting with general maintenance duties as needed
