The Profile

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the Engineering Department on an interim basis.

The successful candidate will have:

• A recognised engineering apprenticeship or relevant engineering qualification
• Proven experience within food manufacturing or a process-driven production environment
• Strong knowledge of Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM) systems and implementation
• Experience managing quality standards and reducing waste
• A proactive, hands on leadership style with a focus on continuous improvement
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills

The Role

Reporting to the Head of Engineering, the Interim Maintenance Manager will be responsible for:

• Providing strong leadership and man management to a small team (up to 6 direct reports and 10 indirect, including contractors)
• Managing on site projects and contractor activity
• Distributing workload effectively across the team
• First and second-line management responsibilities
• Conducting staff appraisals and performance management
• Delivering and reporting on KPIs including Planned Maintenance, Health & Safety, and Quality
• Providing technical leadership and promoting a proactive maintenance culture to prevent equipment failure
