Main duties of the job

Responsibilities

  • Lead and supervise the maintenance team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and safely.
  • Develop and implement preventative maintenance programmes to minimise downtime and optimise equipment performance.
  • Oversee repair and troubleshooting activities for mechanical, electrical, and automation systems.
  • Manage projects related to equipment upgrades, installations, and modifications, ensuring timely delivery within budget.
  • Utilise schematic diagrams and technical manuals to diagnose issues accurately.
  • Programme and maintain programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to support automation processes.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, conducting regular safety audits.
  • Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment history, and spare parts inventory.
  • Collaborate with other departments to plan maintenance schedules that minimise operational disruption.

Qualifications

  • Proven management experience within a maintenance environment, with strong leadership skills.
  • Demonstrable project management capabilities, with a track record of successfully completing technical projects.
  • Mechanical knowledge with experience in maintaining diverse machinery and equipment.
  • Electrical experience, including working with schematics and troubleshooting electrical systems.
  • Familiarity with programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and automation technology.
  • Supervising experience in a fast-paced industrial setting is highly desirable.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Electrical Certification
  • GCSE grade A-C Maths and English or equivalent
  • UK Drivers licence
