Maintenance Fitter/ Foreman required in Cornamona Galway

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic self-motivated individual to join an ever-expanding Maintenance team in Cornamona Co. Galway.

The Position available is full time. 4 shifts Mon to Fri plus 1 shift Saturday.

There is a Maintenance shutdown of the plant for an extended period twice per year and the candidate would have to be available for work during these periods.

• Being reliable with a keen eye for detail is the first step to getting this job. The ideal candidate will have experience and solid technical knowledge.
• Minimum Mechanical Automation and Maintenance Fitting Level 6 (or similar) required.
• Minimum of 2 years' experience within similar Industry.
• Take pride and interest in their work such that they take ownership of the maintenance of a piece equipment to ensure continuous smooth running and minimum downtime.
• Qualified Fitter/Turner with the ability to execute an inhouse repair in breakdown situations utilising parts and workshop with Machining Equipment such as Lathe & Mill and a variety of other equipment on site.
• Proficient in Stick, MIG and TIG Welding.
• Proficient in the use of Oxy Acetylene Cutting Gear.
• General Knowledge of Electrical and Plumbing Trades would be an advantage.
• Possess a knowledge and understanding of the Operation and Maintenance of Large Industrial Processing machinery.
• Possess a Knowledge and Understanding of Standard Power Tools and small equipment.
• Attention to Detail and possess the ability to lay out a job and achieve a quality in their craftsmanship.
• You must also possess manual dexterity and physical stamina.

• Ensuring one's Personal Safety when carrying out all tasks.
• Ensuring the Safety of work the Work Environment for yourself and those around you.
• Ensuring that all work carried out complies with the company's inhouse systems and permit system such as Hot Work, Work at Height etc.
• Ensuring that your work area is always kept neat and tidy.
• Perform mechanical fixes on machinery such as bearing, sprocket, chain, and drive component replacement.
• Inspect and troubleshoot equipment and systems and be able to diagnose issues quickly and the ability to perform a repair or a workaround as necessary as necessitated by production.
• Perform Routine preventative maintenance on Plant & Equipment to ensure the smooth running of same
• Perform machine Maintenance, Replacement, Refurbishment and Repairs and Preventative Maintenance during shut down periods.
• Check control panels and electrical wiring and can identify and report issues.
• Installation appliances and equipment
• Check functionality of safety systems (eg. Safety Zones, Lock Outs etc)
