Job Description
Day Shift Fitter 
Salary: £41,125.50 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Shift Pattern: Monday to Friday, 08:00 - 16:00 (Days Only)
We're looking for a skilled Day Shift Fitter to join our team at Poplars AD Plant. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, you'll play a key role in keeping our anaerobic digestion facility running safely, efficiently and reliably through proactive maintenance and rapid fault response.
Your core responsibilities- Deliver planned and reactive maintenance across the plant.
- Diagnose faults quickly and carry out effective repairs.
- Support installation work and equipment improvements.
- Drive plant reliability, uptime and continuous improvement.
- Work closely with operations teams to minimise downtime.
- Coordinate specialist maintenance activities with contractors.
- Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
- Support preventative maintenance programmes and root cause analysis.
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a Mechanical or Electrical Fitter role.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced process, manufacturing, waste, water or industrial environment.
- Understanding of planned preventative maintenance principles.
- Ability to prioritise and respond effectively to breakdowns.
- Relevant Mechanical or Electrical Engineering qualification preferred.
