Job Description
Overview

The Thorn Baker Industrial Recruitment group are looking for a Maintenance Engineer (Electrical Bias) experienced Stock Controller to work for a packaging company based in Leicester.

This is a permanent position direct with our client.

Responsibilities
  • fault finding and diagnostics
  • breakdown repairs of machinery, machine tools and special purpose machinery, lines and equipment
  • some installation and commissioning of new plant and equipment
  • Maintaining AC/DC Drives, PLC (Siemens S5 & S7), pneumatics and hydraulics
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and maintenance backup is expected
  • Your purpose is to maximise machine availability and efficiency through reactive and planned maintenance and repairs of modern PLC driven tissue manufacturing, packaging.
  • To communicate and record relevant information regarding repair and maintenance activity performed on manufacturing, packaging and site service equipment on a CMM software program
  • To minimise equipment downtime using a thorough and considered approach, within our food hygiene and health and safety guidelines.
  • Ensuring that maintenance plans and records are kept up to date, using the computerised maintenance management system
  • Able to liaise effectively with production personnel to establish priorities in the event of breakdowns
  • Able to gain a thorough understanding of the operation, set-up and maintenance procedures on production

Hours of work are usually working up to 12 hours per day as part of a rota

Salary is negotiable depending on your experience

The person
  • Applicants must be experienced and well trained Electrical Maintenance Engineers or Multi-skilled Maintenance Engineers with experience within the manufacturing sector.
  • It is essential that you have experience of maintaining PLC and SCADA systems utilising Siemens S5 and S7 systems.
  • Ideal candidates will have some mechanical knowledge and skills to complement a sound electrical maintenance background and will come from either a Packaging or manufacturing background.
  • Multi skilled to cover electrical, mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems
  • Able to train others in the operation, set-up and maintenance of machines and equipment
  • Able to work under own initiative and prioritise workload accordingly
  • Competent in the use of Excel and Word
