Job Description
Pertemps Daventry is recruiting on behalf of a well-established manufacturing client for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their growing maintenance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer looking to secure a long-term position within a busy manufacturing environment. You'll play a key role in keeping production running by maintaining plant machinery, responding to breakdowns, and carrying out planned preventative maintenance.

What You'll Be Doing
- Responding quickly to machinery breakdowns to minimise production downtime.
- Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs on plant and production equipment.
- Completing planned preventative maintenance (PPM) to agreed schedules.
- Identifying root causes of recurring faults and recommending continuous improvement solutions.
- Performing routine inspections and safety checks across site equipment.
- Supporting the installation and maintenance of manufacturing machinery.
- Supervising contractors and ensuring all work is completed in line with health and safety procedures.
- Working closely with production teams to ensure equipment reliability.
- Supporting and mentoring colleagues where required.
- A recognised engineering qualification such as an Apprenticeship, BTEC, City & Guilds, or NVQ Level 3.
- Previous maintenance engineering experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
- Experience working with mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic systems.
- A proactive approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong communication skills and attention to detail.
- Experience with crane systems would be advantageous but is not essential.
