Maintenance Engineer

Maintenance Engineer - Stratford-upon-Avon

Monday to Friday 37.5 hours per week £17.50 per hour

We are recruiting on behalf of one of our established clients in Stratford-upon-Avon for an experienced Maintenance Engineer to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled engineer to ensure the safe operation, maintenance and efficiency of plant machinery and site services.

The Role:
You will be responsible for maintaining and maximising the performance of plant equipment and site systems, ensuring minimal downtime and supporting overall production efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Maintenance of site services including electrical and pneumatic systems, signage, heating systems (wood pellet), and drainage
  
  
• Diagnosing faults and carrying out effective repairs to plant machinery and services
  
  
• Performing preventative maintenance
  
  
• Operating machine tools such as lathes, millers, drills and grinders
  
  
• Interpreting technical manuals and engineering drawings
  
  
• Assisting with ordering spare parts and maintaining stock levels
  
  
• Using precision measuring equipment (micrometers, Verniers, etc.)
  
  
• Managing daily oil refresh processes in line with recycling procedures
  
  
• Following all company health & safety policies
  
  

Requirements:

• City & Guilds qualification preferred
  
  
• Apprenticeship trained preferred
  
  
• Approximately 5 years' relevant engineering experience
  
  
• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills
  
  
• Experience with machine tools and precision measuring equipment
  
  
• Forklift experience advantageous
  
  

Working Environment:

• Industrial manufacturing environment
  
  
• Oily, noisy conditions with oil mist/smoke present
  
  
• Slippery surfaces at times
  
  
• Physically demanding role involving heavy lifting
  
  
• PPE required at all times
  
  
• Occasional outdoor work in all weather conditions
