Maintenance Assistant

Maintenance Assistant (permanent, 37.5 hrs/week, 9:00am-5:30pm, Monday Friday). Salary: £26,743per annum. Includes an on call shift every six weeks with an on call allowance.

Responsibilities

• Carry out reactive maintenance in accordance with the Service Level Agreement (SLA).
• Provide front line response and keep the environment in accordance with the SLA, keeping the site clean and clear.
• Assist with the moving of refuse, white goods, mattresses, and furniture in a safe manner.
• Assist with statutory testing (fire alarm, fire extinguisher, fire blanket, fire detector checks, water temperature monitoring, shower head cleaning, and emergency lighting checks).
• Report any health and safety issues to the relevant manager(s).

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a similar maintenance role and environment.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Strong understanding of building services, safe working practices and health and safety.
• Willingness to work additional hours when required, especially during main student arrival and departure weekends.
• Applies safe working practices at all times.
