Job Description

  • 40 Hours per Week / Monday to Friday / 08:00 - 16:30
  • £15.29 per hour

  • Location: Royal Stoke Hospital
What You'll Do:
  • Carry out planned maintenance across building, mechanical and electrical systems in line with regulations and manufacturer guidelines
  • Support Engineering Management to meet contractual response times and produce required reports
  • Assist with annual statutory maintenance programmes, including shutdown works
  • Review and validate test results, ensuring compliance with current guidance and Authorising Engineer (AE) recommendations
  • Ensure safe operation, maintenance and repair of all plant and equipment across the hospital site
  • Deliver both planned and reactive maintenance services, including out-of-hours support
  • Maintain compliance with contractual, legislative, statutory and HTM requirements, supporting Health & Safety standards
  • Collaborate with internal teams and stakeholders, including helpdesk and clinical staff, ensuring effective communication and timely completion of work
  • Comply with all health and safety, hygiene, and statutory regulations, including COSHH and fire safety.
  • Promote and maintain a safe, clean and efficient environment for patients, visitors and staff.
What You Bring:
  • Demonstrated interest in the engineering industry with a proactive, can do attitude
  • Confident and capable in assessing situations and making sound decisions
  • Self motivated, adaptable and able to manage changing priorities effectively
  • Strong problem solving skills with a logical and practical approach
  • Calm and effective under pressure, with a clear understanding of urgency
  • Good knowledge of Health & Safety principles and safe working practices
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing and basic maths
  • IT literate, willing to undertake training, and open to overtime when required
  • Experience in a maintenance/engineering environment, ideally within healthcare, with additional specialist knowledge where applicable
  • Excellent time management, teamwork and communication
  • A positive, initiative taking approach - able to work independently or as part of a team.
