Job Title: Maintenance & Site Services Manager
Location: Rugeley, Staffordshire, UK
Contract & Hours: - Permanent, Mon - Fri, 37.5 hours per week
Package includes: Salary from £70,000 plus a benefits package designed to support your wellbeing and reward your impact, including discretionary performance related bonus, and a matched pension contribution of up to 10%.
About the RoleWe are looking for an experienced engineering leader to join us as the Maintenance & Site Services manager. Based primarily at our Rugeley site, with regular presence at Fradley and a nearby satellite facility, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our operations run safely, reliably, and efficiently.
This senior position offers a rare opportunity to work alongside the current post holder as part of a structured succession plan. You will lead a multi site engineering team, oversee compliance with all engineering and safety regulations, and drive both preventative and reactive maintenance across a highly automated, 24/7 environment. Alongside day to day leadership, you will deliver capital projects and engineering improvements that strengthen asset health and support long term business performance.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with engineering and site safety regulations (electrical standards, guarding, working at height).
- Establish and oversee planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules across all sites.
- Lead timely responses to breakdowns and reactive maintenance issues to minimise downtime.
- Manage engineering budgets and site services expenditure effectively.
- Deliver capital and engineering projects that improve safety, automation, and capacity.
- Build and develop a high performing team of engineers, providing clear leadership, coaching, and support.
- Collaborate with suppliers and contractors to implement robust engineering solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement, reducing downtime and enhancing reliability.
- Significant experience in engineering or maintenance leadership within manufacturing or industrial environments.
- Proven track record of regulatory compliance and robust PPM management in a 24/7 operation.
- Experience originating and delivering engineering and Capex projects from concept to implementation.
- Strong people management skills, with the ability to lead and develop a multi site team.
- Excellent communication and influencing skills, with emotional intelligence to manage succession dynamics.
- Background in large scale automation or dry powder handling is highly desirable, though transferable experience from other process industries will be considered.
- Strong budget management capability and resilience in fast paced environments.
