Job Title

Mainframe COBOL / CICS DB2 Application Developer

Responsibilities
  • Participate in all aspects of SDLC; design, coding, testing, implementation, and documentation of solutions of moderate complexity, significance, and risk.
  • Follow best practices of software development including coding standards, detailed testing, thorough documentation, and code reviews.
  • Create peer reviewed comprehensive technical designs, unit test plans, and test cases.
  • Collaborate in team agile ceremonies: Daily Stand ups, refinement sessions, sprint planning; provide clear and valuable input to discussions.
  • Support colleagues, developers, test engineers, and product owners.
  • Review, investigate, and answer internal customer queries.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve production issues.
  • Join a 24x7 On Call rota, periodically providing out of hours support for our mainframe based applications.
Qualifications
  • Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience; at least five years of experience developing and implementing applications.
  • Required Skills: mainframe COBOL / CICS JCL, batch procedures and parameters, DB2 / SQL, IBM IDz, TSO batch scheduler (e.g., Ca7).
  • Advantageous Skills: working within an agile methodology, IBM File Manager, VSAM, GIT, ServiceNow or other ITSM, Jira or other agile tool, Visual Studio, CoPilot or other AI development tools.
  • Prior knowledge of the payment industry or merchant acquiring is not required but is a distinct advantage.
Location Expectations

This role requires working from a U.S. Bank location three (3) or more days per week.
