PositionAn exciting opportunity has arisen for a Macmillan Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist Colorectal (ACNS) within our Cancer Services Department based at University Hospital Ayr.
Hours and Shift Pattern30 hours per week 08:30-16:30
Tuesday - Thursday working 2 days at University Hospital Ayr & 2 days at University Hospital Crosshouse

What you will doThe Macmillan Advanced Clinical Nurse Specialist (ACNS) provides holistic care and support to patients and their families with colorectal cancers. Specialist nursing advice and care is provided throughout the patient pathway (including diagnosis, chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy and end of life) with the ACNS acting as a key worker as well as a core member of the multidisciplinary team. This is an exciting opportunity for a nurse who seeks to further develop their skills, experience and career.
Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the jobThe applicant will be a registered nurse with considerable cancer experience and should possess a relevant post-graduate diploma or equivalent experience. Advanced clinical decision making and communication skills and a passion for quality improvement are essential for this role.
