Job Description
M&E Estimator / Quantity Surveyor

Location: Whyteleafe, CR3
Salary: Up to £75,000 (depending on experience)
Hours: 9am - 5pm, Monday to Friday
Hybrid: 2 days WFH per week
Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Company

Our client is a small, family-run MEPH contractor founded in 2020. They deliver mechanical and electrical installation and refurbishment projects across both commercial and domestic sectors.

With project values reaching up to £600,000, the company is entering an exciting growth phase. Led by two hands-on Directors and supported by two experienced Project Managers, they offer a close-knit, supportive working environment where everyone's contribution is valued.

The Opportunity

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced M&E Estimator or Quantity Surveyor to join a growing business where your input will make a real difference.

The role will focus on cost estimating, tender preparation, and financial management across a range of projects. The client is also open to considering an M&E Estimator who is keen to develop into a Quantity Surveyor role, with full training and mentorship provided.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for mechanical and electrical projects.

  • Develop and manage budgets to ensure financial control throughout projects.

  • Prepare tender documentation, evaluate bids, and support supplier selection.

  • Review and manage contracts to ensure compliance with company standards.

  • Analyse drawings and specifications to identify risks and opportunities.

  • Produce cost reports, forecasts, and variance analyses.

  • Collaborate closely with Directors, Project Managers, and engineers.

  • Contribute to value engineering initiatives and cost-saving solutions.

  • Maintain accurate financial and project documentation.

Experience & Qualifications
  • Proven experience in M&E estimating and/or quantity surveying.

  • Degree (or equivalent experience) in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, or related field.

  • Excellent commercial awareness and attention to detail.

  • Good understanding of M&E construction methods and regulations.

  • Proficiency in estimation and project management software.

  • Strong communication and analytical skills.
