We're looking for an enthusiastic, organised and creative Lunt Roman Fort Camps Coordinator (Fixed Term) to bring our legendary children's camps to life. Set within one of the UK's most atmospheric heritage sites, this is your chance to turn history into hands on fun and help children make memories they'll talk about for years.

What You'll Be Doing

Planning and delivering our Lunt Roman Fort camps packed with immersive activities; outdoor exploration and playful learning; as well as supporting other Learning & Engagement activities across our museum venues when camps aren't running.

Main Duties of the Role
  • Plan, coordinate and deliver the Lunt Roman Fort camps, ensuring all activities are engaging, safe and aligned with CV Life's standards for children's cultural experiences.
  • Manage all logistics for camp delivery, including scheduling activities, preparing resources, setting up and taking down of equipment, coordinating site access, and ensuring smooth day to day operation.
  • Act as the main point of contact for teachers, group leaders and bookers, managing enquiries, providing pre event information, and ensuring a positive customer experience throughout.
  • Schedule, train and supervise Casual Learning Supervisors, Casual Learning Facilitators and volunteers to support camp delivery, ensuring staffing levels meet programme needs and remain within delegated budgets.
  • Ensure compliance with all health and safety, safeguarding, hygiene and allergy requirements, including risk assessments and incident reporting.
  • Monitor income and expenditure for the camps programme, contributing to reviews of financial performance and supporting the achievement of income targets.
  • Develop and maintain positive relationships with schools and other organised groups to support audience development for the camps.
  • Support other Learning and Engagement programmes across CV Life venues when camps are not scheduled, contributing to the wider delivery of children's cultural events and activities.
  • Contribute to evaluation and reporting, using appropriate techniques to demonstrate the social and economic impact of the camps programme.
  • Act as the Designated Premises Supervisor for specific events and Step Up Duty Manager when required.

  • Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to motivate and support a delivery team.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for working with families, staff, volunteers and partners.
  • Highly organised, with strong logistical and time management skills to coordinate complex programmes.
  • Self motivated, able to work independently and collaboratively within a multi partner environment.
  • Able to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and meet deadlines.
  • A supportive, inclusive approach, able to respond to differing needs (e.g. neurodiverse children, physical disabilities, diverse cultures).
Essential Knowledge and Experience
  • Demonstrable experience in planning and delivering events, ideally within cultural, heritage or educational settings.
  • Experience supervising staff or volunteers, including setting work programmes and providing clear direction.
  • Strong understanding of event production processes, including project management, financial oversight and staff coordination.
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety requirements for indoor and outdoor events.
  • Understanding of how cultural events contribute to audience development and community engagement.
  • Experience using evaluation methods to measure impact.

  • Able to work flexibly in relation to hours, including unsociable hours, evenings, weekends, bank holidays and overnight stays as required.
