The Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) Performance & Pathway Manager will be responsible for the daily administrative and planning management and coordination of the LCS Programme. This includes logistical management of the Mobile CT unit (scanner capacity and location), coordinating PCA screeners for Lung Health Check (LHC) assessments, managing CT appointments and failsafe procedures, and overseeing all administrative processes, data analysis and reporting.
Main DutiesThe post holder will work closely with the Ops Manager, Strategic Lead, responsible clinicians, Clinical Nurse Managers and the nursing team to develop and implement programme action plans, ensuring delivery of national standards and providing accurate guidance to support performance. Direct managerial leadership will be provided to the Bookings Team, Failsafe Team and Administration Team, with oversight of the operational management of the entire LCS Programme. Documentation will be produced for all performance aspects, and mandatory data will be completed on time for key meetings.
Job Responsibilities- Lead, scope and plan the delivery of current pathways against the National LCS Protocol and Quality Standards for optimal timed pathways.
- Collaborate with primary, secondary and private providers to deliver patient pathways.
- Support the Strategic Lead, Programme Manager and LCS manager on national and local transformation projects.
- Manage process, change documents and systems, reporting achievements, challenges and progress.
- Manage daily workload and oversee LCS Bookings performance against national standards.
- Manage daily capacity of screeners and Mobile CT units to optimise utilisation and maximise efficiency.
- Provide senior manager support and leadership to Team Leaders, Navigator, Failsafe Lead, Bookings Team and Admin Support Team.
- Deputise for the Programme Ops Manager during absences.
- Partner with the Informatics Department to produce specialty reports for management.
- Ensure patient safety from a failsafe perspective, recalling patients for follow up within quality standard timescales.
- Post graduate diploma level education or equivalent skills and experience.
- Evidence of continuous professional development.
- Leadership qualification.
- Working within national screening programmes or managing a booking centre.
- Experience in data management, information analysis and business planning in a multi disciplinary setting.
- Extensive use of databases and PC tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Soliton, Somerset).
- Experience in an NHS management role, HR and staff management.
- Experience with cancer waiting times targets and patient tracking.
- Use of benchmarking resources and Lean approaches.
- Junior management experience within an LCS programme.
- Knowledge of the LCS protocol and quality standards.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex information and data trends.
- Excellent numeracy and literacy skills.
- Understanding of IT systems and their application for service delivery.
- Understanding of screening programmes and their strategic role.
- Knowledge of good HR practice and employment law.
- Knowledge of current LCS strategies and policies.
- Knowledge of cancer multidisciplinary teams within the Trust.
- Knowledge of PACS department management within the programme.

- Excellent capacity planning, data presentation and decision making skills.
