Join the RNLI as a Logistics Manager and play a vital role in saving lives at sea. From coordinating the movement of lifesaving assets to maintaining fleet compliance and managing key relationships with stations, engineering teams, and transport partners, you'll be central to keeping our rescue service ready to launch 24/7.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity for an organised, motivated leader who thrives in a fast-paced operational environment. You'll lead and develop a team of logistics staff, drive continuous improvement, uphold safety and regulatory standards, and respond effectively to urgent logistics needs. If you're passionate about teamwork, problem-solving, and ensuring the smooth, safe operation of a mission-driven organisation, this role offers the chance to make a direct and meaningful impact every day. You will:

  • Plan and manage the distribution of lifeboats and their equipment, spare parts, PPE and operational supplies to RNLI stations.
  • Coordinate transportation of critical lifesaving assets, always ensuring readiness including the Relief Fleet.
  • Ensure the team are focused on customer's needs and listen and engage with feedback and look for opportunities to delight and continually improve.
  • Ensure RNLI fleet compliance by supporting the maintenance, certification, inspection and documentation of lifeboats and associated vehicles in line with maritime, safety, and regulatory standards including Operator's License needs.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams, asset planners, production facilities, lifeboat stations and volunteers to ensure fleet readiness and operational availability.
Qualifications

You'll be Ideal for an individual who thrives under pressure, takes responsibility, and works well with others. A strong motivator with solid planning, coordination, and reporting skills, proficient in business systems, and able to solve problems pragmatically while remaining calm in a fast-paced environment.

To be considered as the Logistics Manager you will need:

  • Transport Managers CPC (Certificate of Professional Competence) or be willing to work towards.
  • Experience of Logistics, or a warehouse working environment.
  • Strong organisational and leadership skills.
  • Clear communication and teamwork abilities.
  • Experience managing staff in a logistics or operational environment.
