Main duties of the jobThisis a 10PA locum appointment for a Consultant in Paediatric Diabetes and GeneralPaediatrics.
Thispost will deliver 5PAs supporting the Diabetes team (Dr Fiona Campbell, DrAoife Kelleher & Dr James Yong) and 5PAs supporting the General Paediatricsteam. This will include contributing to the on-call rota.
Weare looking for a new enthusiastic and dynamic individual to join our existinggroup of consultants who are all highly motivated and committed to developingexcellent services for patients. The expectations of all members of themulti-disciplinary team are high. The team consists of consultants with variousspecialist interests, including immunology and infectious diseases,respiratory, nephrology, eating disorders and secondary epilepsy. The role willinclude acute work in the Childrens Assessment and Treatment unit (CAT) and onthe Childrens inpatient wards, as well as outpatient work in the form ofgeneral paediatric clinics.
Therole has a vast mixture of secondary and tertiary paediatrics supporting anextensive array of other tertiary specialists across Leeds Childrens Hospital.

Person Specification Experience- Must be able to demonstrate a high level of clinical experience and competence in Paediatrics Specifically, he/she must demonstrate higher training in Paediatric Diabetes Evidence of continuous care
- Eligible for full registration with the GMC at time of appointment and hold a current licence to practice. Eligibility to work in the UK.
- Evidence of the ability to carry out medical research.
- Previous experience of supervising research by junior staff.
- Higher degree e.g. MD/PhD relevant to the subspecialty.
