Job Description

Shoreham Port operates 24/7 365 days of the year within a fascinating and complex marine environment, where no two days are the same! The role of the Marine Coordinator - Lockmaster is at the heart of Marine operations as you coordinate port services within the harbour by providing accurate and up-to-date information to a range of stakeholders. You will be based in Harbour Radio, which is in the centre of the Port and is a local landmark. It is a great place to learn about everything that goes on in our Port estate. If you have a Port/Seafaring/Marine operations background and some practical knowledge of the Port Marine Safety Code, we would love to hear from you.

The Role
  • You will be working within an experienced and highly skilled team on a pre-determined roster basis.
  • You will have responsibility for the safe operation of our historic Prince Philip and Prince George locks, ensuring the safe coordination of commercial shipping movements.
  • Act as a Port information service to a wide group of stakeholders, focusing on improving safety within our Harbour and Marinas.
  • Working closely with our Harbour Master and Duty Officer on matters relating to Port safety and security, including being the first point of contact for Port emergency and security incidents.
  • General duties that arise within an operational Marine environment.
