This is an excellent role for someone who wants to work as part of a team, with a wide array of technology, to implement and manage custom Linux servers and applications.

Key Skills:

• Solid understanding of Linux (the kernel, processes, permissions, filesystem hierarchy, IPtables, SELINUX)
• Networking knowledge of DHCP, DNS, IP addressing
• Understanding Cloud Concepts
• Identifying, resolving and documenting operational issues Troubleshooting
• Experience and knowledge of troubleshooting web and application services in a LAMP stack
• Experience with Bind
• Apache
• Understanding implementation of SSL certificates
• MySQL and/or PostgreSQL build and administration
• Comfortable with Bash scripting
• Creating and maintaining system documentation
• Advise of Linux best practices

Skills Required Desirable Criteria

• Networking experience
• Chef Automation
• Central management of servers using applications such as Spacewalk
• Degree qualification in a Computer Science related subject
• Firewalls Juniper / Cisco
• VMware VCP
