Job Description

At Harmony Fire, our work saves lives. As a Service Engineer - Lightning Protection Systems (LPS), you'll play a vital role in protecting buildings, assets, and people from one of nature's most powerful forces. You'll carry out inspections, testing, maintenance, and repairs on lightning protection and earthing systems across a wide range of client sites - from commercial properties and industrial facilities to heritage and residential buildings.

You'll be trusted to ensure every system meets national and international standards, working to BS EN 62305 and Harmony's uncompromising standards of quality and safety. This is a hands-on, field-based role that requires precision, professionalism, and a commitment to making every site safer.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out routine inspections, testing, and maintenance on new and existing lightning protection and earthing systems

Perform physical tests and visual inspections in line with BS EN 62305 and other relevant standards

Identify and report faults, deterioration, and deficiencies, undertaking remedial work as required

Produce detailed technical reports using digital tools (e.g. PDA), recording findings, test results, and recommendations

Ensure all work is compliant, accurate, and completed to the highest safety standards

Liaise with clients, contractors, and project managers on-site, providing clear technical updates and maintaining customer satisfaction

Strictly follow all health and safety regulations and company procedures, including RAMS, working at height, and electrical safety practices

Maintain company tools, test equipment, and vehicles to a professional standard

Travel regularly to client sites, which may include time away from home

Participate in ongoing technical, compliance, and safety training

Support the wider Service and Operations teams, ensuring communication and collaboration across departments

Uphold Harmony's reputation for excellence and reliability on every visit

What We're Looking For

Proven experience in electrical or lightning protection systems

Comfortable working at height and in field-based environments

Excellent understanding of electrical safety and earthing principles

Knowledge of BS EN 62305 and associated testing standards

Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills

Detail-driven with a do it right first time attitude

Excellent communication skills with clients and colleagues

Good IT literacy and familiarity with digital reporting tools

Full UK driving licence

A reliable, proactive team player with pride in their craft
