Location: Sweden (Project Based)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Lifting Manager to join the delivery team on a major hyperscale data centre project in Sweden.

This is a key site leadership role responsible for the safe planning, coordination and execution of all lifting operations across a large, fast-paced construction project. You will work closely with construction, logistics, HSE and subcontractor teams to ensure lifting activities are delivered safely, efficiently and in line with project programme requirements.

Experience within data centres, mission-critical, industrial or major infrastructure projects is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement the project lifting strategy and lifting management plan.
• Plan, coordinate and oversee all lifting operations across the project.
• Review and approve lift plans, method statements and risk assessments.
• Ensure lifting operations comply with local legislation, project procedures and industry best practice.
• Coordinate heavy and critical lifts involving mobile cranes, crawler cranes, tower cranes and specialist lifting equipment.
• Manage lifting activities for major plant including generators, transformers, chillers, UPS systems, switchgear and prefabricated modules.
• Coordinate lifting operations with construction, logistics and commissioning teams.
• Ensure lifting activities are integrated into the overall project programme.
• Verify all lifting equipment is certified, inspected and maintained.
• Ensure crane operators, appointed persons, supervisors and slinger/signallers are suitably trained and competent.
• Conduct regular site inspections and lifting audits.
• Lead lifting briefings, toolbox talks and safety meetings.
• Monitor subcontractor compliance with lifting procedures and project standards.
• Investigate incidents, identify lessons learned and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain lifting documentation, permits and certification records.
• Support client inspections and audits.

About You

You will be an experienced Lifting Manager with a proven track record on major construction projects.

Essential Requirements:

• Previous experience managing lifting operations on large-scale construction projects.
• Experience within data centres, mission-critical, industrial or major infrastructure projects.
• Strong knowledge of heavy lifting operations and lift planning.
• Experience coordinating multiple lifting contractors and complex site logistics.
• Ability to review and approve lift plans, RAMS and lifting documentation.
• Excellent understanding of lifting regulations and industry standards.
• Strong leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• A proactive approach with an uncompromising commitment to health and safety.

Qualifications

• CPCS Appointed Person (A61) or equivalent.
• Relevant lifting operations qualification.
• CSCS or equivalent construction safety card.
• NEBOSH or IOSH qualification (desirable).
• First Aid qualification (desirable).
