Tuesday 3:30pm - 10:00pm (6.5 hours) at Inveralmond High School

Saturday 9:00am - 3:30pm (6.5 hours) at Inveralmond High School

£13.45 per hour

Job Description

Join our small team working at Inveralmond Community High School where we operate the local community resource used by the public and local groups. Xcite offers public swimming sessions, aqua based fitness classes and a comprehensive Learn to Swim programme as well as a dance studio, outdoor pitches and a games hall available for hire.

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Lifeguard to ensure the safety and well-being of our members and visitors. If you have a passion for helping others, take pride in your work and can use your own initiative, this could be the perfect job for you! Applicants should ideally hold a current National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ).

Key Responsibilities
  • Patrol the pool sides or sit in an elevated chair to supervise the swimming pool and its customers
  • Stop behaviour which could be dangerous
  • Respond quickly in emergency situations to effect rescues
  • Perform first aid if required
  • Undertake routine maintenance and rigorous cleaning duties
  • Set up and take down sports equipment such as lane ropes and diving blocks
  • Undertake scheduled water tests such as pH and chlorine levels
  • Deliver excellent customer service and resolve customer complaints should they arise
  • Process bookings and payments through cash and credit card transactions
  • Promote products and services to customers and visitors
  • Undertake general administrative tasks to support the delivery of programmes and services
  • Attend regular training to maintain job competence and the NPLQ
  • Cover other areas such as reception where required
