Lifeguard

As a Lifeguard at Freedom Leisure, you will ensure the best levels of service are achieved for our customers by offering a friendly, clean and safe facility.

You must be able to swim competently; if you need extra coaching to reach the required level, our excellent swim teachers will support you.

You can progress through additional training, both formal and on the job. Some people may not wish to move up the ladder; that is fine. What matters is that you are happy in your work.

Qualifications and Requirements

• NPLQ qualification or equivalent, desirable
• First Aid at Work
• Ability and understanding of how to relate to customers of all ages and abilities and to staff at all levels
• Well-developed interpersonal skills
• Strong swimmer and able to attend a week-long training course
• Team-oriented approach, able to work across organisation boundaries, and demonstrate interest and support for the work of staff and colleagues
• Flexibility to work as required and understand instructions from managers
• Demonstrated passion and energy for the leisure industry
• Flexibility and adaptability
