Job Description
Aircraft Maintenance Engineer (B1 or B2)
Location: Madrid, Spain
€40,000 - €50,000
Overview
We are seeking skilled Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to perform line maintenance, preventive maintenance, and system alterations on In-flight Entertainment (IFE) systems in accordance with EASA regulations.
Responsibilities include troubleshooting and testing electronic assemblies, removing and replacing components or cabling on the aircraft, and modifying or upgrading installed systems.
Aircraft/IFE Maintenance and Support
- Perform built-in tests (BIT) and manual system checks on IFE systems.
- Troubleshoot electronic units, cabling, or seat consoles to the line-replaceable module level using knowledge of electronic theory.
- Identify and execute necessary repairs, which may involve replacing faulty modules or cabling.
- Operate vehicles on airport property and in proximity to aircraft.
- Use airline communication tools and systems.
- Serve as a technical interface with the customer.
Administrative/Documentation
- Document test results and repairs using digital tools, including barcode scanning systems.
- Receive, prepare, and track spare parts and components.
- Support inventory management of spare equipment.
- Perform other related duties as directed by supervisors or management.
Experience Requirements
- 1-3 years' experience in line or hangar aircraft maintenance.
- Relevant academic or technical qualifications meeting EASA Part 66 licensing (Category A, B1, or B2).
- Ability to successfully pass comprehensive background and security checks.
Knowledge/Skill Requirements
- Proficient in reading and interpreting instructions, blueprints, technical manuals, and verbal guidance in English.
- Computer literacy with tools such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
- Solid foundation in electronics and troubleshooting gained from commercial aviation, military service, or technical education and related experience.
- Capable of working under pressure in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to determine procedures for new assignments, address moderately complex problems with initiative, and propose practical solutions.
- Demonstrates effective and resourceful task completion skills.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to travel up to 25% domestically and internationally for temporary assignments at other maintenance stations.
- Valid driver's license and eligibility to operate vehicles on airport grounds.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including weekends and holidays.
- Physical ability to handle tools and components, climb ladders/platforms, and remain in standing, sitting, or bent positions for extended periods.
- Capable of lifting up to 25 kilos and working in challenging environments, including extreme weather and confined spaces.
- Must adapt to congested workspaces and variable noise levels.
