About this Position As part of its TUM Global internationalization concept, TUM has expanded its activities worldwide in recent years and operates five liaison offices on four continents. As TUM Liaison Officer, you will be based in the shared office of EuroTech in Brussels. In your role, you will represent TUM within joint EuroTech activities, including those organized as part of the EuroTeQ Engineering University, and strengthen TUM's own network and initiatives in Brussels. You will work closely with the EuroTech Secretary General to strengthen multilateral Alliance activities, and the TUM Global & Alumni Office as well as the TUM Office for Research and Innovation to advance TUM's priorities in Europe. Requirements At least Master's degree (or equivalent); first-hand experience with German higher education is desirable Excellent written and spoken English language skills, a sound understanding of German, both written and spoken, is definitely a plus. Some understanding of French or Dutch would be an advantage Strong knowledge of the European higher education, research and innovation landscape as well as of the European Union's funding schemes and policy priorities, in particular regarding the relevant framework programs and initiatives (e.g. Erasmus+, Horizon Europe, European Universities Initiative, New European Innovation Agenda) At least 3 years of work experience on the European / international levels. Strong communication and networking skills across cultures and hierarchies Flexibility, proactivity, and the ability to work independently with a hands-on approach as well as within physical, virtual and hybrid team settings Strategic competencies, result-oriented working methods, high efficiency and attention to detail, sense of responsibility Regular business trips within Europe are part of the role Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office suite Tasks Represent TUM in the EuroTech Universities Alliance & the EuroTeQ Engineering University, contributing to the annual Brussels Office roadmap and cooperating with other EuroTech and EuroTeQ counterparts on joint initiatives Lead and develop activities within specific topics, initiatives and EuroTech Focus Areas under TUM leadership/co-leadership (currently Additive Manufacturing & Sustainable Society), provide early intelligence on EU and international developments, organise collaborative workshops, webinars or round tables, and engage in mapping exercises Drive and support European funding proposals, both within EuroTech and for individual TUM researchers with a focus on Horizon Europe Manage relationships - on behalf of TUM as well as EuroTech and EuroTeQ - with the European Commission, the European Parliament and other stakeholders in the European Union's higher education, research and innovation landscape Advisory role with view to EU policy as well as research, education and innovation agendas Represent TUM's political agenda in relevant European and academic forums Draft and coordinate position papers in alignment with the TUM Presidential Board Support TUM's European initiatives and visiting delegations in Brussels Create editorial content for TUM's website and social media channels Prepare reports, updates, newsletters and other documents for EuroTech and EuroTeQ stakeholders Monitor, evaluate, and report on activities We offer In this versatile role, you will represent one of Europe's top universities in Brussels.
