The Role

Level 3 Teaching Assistant - Behaviour and SEMH Support

We're looking for a confident, committed Level 3 Teaching Assistant to support primary-aged pupils with social, emotional, and behavioural needs. This role is all about consistency, being the calm in the storm, and showing up daily as a steady, trusted adult when things feel tricky.

  • Supporting pupils with SEMH and behavioural needs on a 1:1 and small group basis
  • Using de-escalation and regulation strategies calmly and confidently
  • Building strong, consistent relationships so pupils feel respected and heard
  • Working closely with teachers, pastoral teams, SEN staff, and external professionals
  • Supporting behaviour plans and contributing to engagement strategies
  • Helping pupils access learning while building confidence, resilience, and independence

We're looking for someone who:
  • Holds a Level 3 qualification in Supporting Teaching and Learning, or equivalent
  • Has experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, behavioural challenges, or additional needs
  • Brings a calm, patient, and resilient approach, even when the day throws a curveball
  • Understands the importance of boundaries, consistency, and empathy
  • Works well as part of a team and communicates confidently with colleagues and families
  • Is genuinely motivated to help young people thrive, both in school and beyond
Benefits & Requirements

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position, but in some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscribe to the DBS Update Service.
