Role Details

PART TIME ROLE AVAILABLE AT BOURNE Saturday 11.30-5pm

Our centres are open 7 days per week.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure the safety of customers while supervising the swimming pool and its surroundings as a pool lifeguard.
  • Perform routine checks, cleaning, and assist with the preparation of events and activities, including the assembly and dismantling of equipment.
  • Interact warmly and welcomingly with customers, often being the first team member who receives reports of issues.
  • Maintain professionalism and efficiency, remaining calm in difficult situations and proactively addressing issues or reporting them to management when necessary.
  • Adhere to the National Pool Lifeguard Qualification standards, ensuring the poolside is never left unattended.
  • Monitor general pool conditions (water clarity and odour) and report any issues to the Duty Manager.
  • Track the number of swimmers in the pool at any time and alert the Duty Manager if limits are exceeded or additional lifeguards are required.
  • Follow the Pool Safety Operating Procedure (PSOP) of the centre at all times.
  • Maintain National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) by attending required training sessions.
  • Provide outstanding customer care, addressing minor problems and reporting serious issues to the Duty Manager.
  • Ensure the health and safety of customers at all times.
  • Understand and be fully conversant with the Centre Emergencies Procedure for the building as detailed in the Health and Safety Manual.
  • Check the safety of equipment and report any damage or malfunction of equipment, plant, or building fabric to the Duty Manager immediately upon discovery.
  • Assist in the preparation and operation of events and activities, including assembly, dismantling, and minor repairs when required.
  • Carry out cleaning duties as prescribed by the Duty Manager and maintain storage areas in a clean and tidy condition.
  • Handle and record lost property in line with company procedures.
  • Assist in the opening and/or closing of the centre each day.
  • Complete other tasks as requested by the management team.
