£12.65 per hour

Location: Canvey Island

Overview

The Leisure Attendant is responsible for ensuring a safe, enjoyable, and welcoming environment for all leisure centre users. This includes supervising activities, maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards, providing excellent customer service, and assisting in the daily operations of the facility. The role involves upholding safety regulations, supervising the poolside area, promoting positive user experiences, and contributing to the overall success of the leisure centre.

Accountabilities
  • Supervise swimming pool sessions, identify potential hazards and take appropriate action in line with the Pool Safety Operating Procedures.
  • Administer first aid as required.
  • Clean internal and external areas and maintain the facilities to a high standard following health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Be helpful, polite and courteous and provide excellent customer care at all times.
  • Be responsible for erecting, dismantling and storing equipment within the facility/facilities in accordance with the timetable of activities and events.
  • Assist with deliveries as instructed, ensuring safe storage of stock.
  • Enforce all rules associated with the use of the facilities to ensure safety and enjoyment of all customers.
  • Ensure that any damaged equipment or building fabric is reported immediately.
  • Work at any of the Council's Leisure facilities as required.
  • Comply with the centre's operating procedures and be aware of responsibilities contained therein, e.g. Emergency Action Plan.
Experience and Skills
  • A positive 'can do' attitude when dealing with a wide range of individuals and queries, ensuring excellent customer care.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of health and safety.
  • Ability to promote and safeguard the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
  • Requirement to work flexible shifts to meet the needs of the service.
