Job Description

Fantastic opportunity for a proactive and drivenexperienced Legal Secretary to join our leading Banking team, supportingPartners Richard Sealy and Chris Lister, as well as our wider team of feeearners. This role is based in our Manchester office. While a regular officepresence of three days per week is required, Gateley fully embraces hybridworking, offering a mix of home and office work. The team

OurBanking & Finance team has a wealth of experience in all aspects of banking& finance transactions. We act for lenders across the sector, providing endto end advice which helps our clients to manage risk and comply with regulatoryrequirements. We act for a wide range of financial institutions including themajor UK clearing banks, challenger banks, specialist lenders, asset-basedlenders and numerous fund-based lenders.

Ourborrower client base encompasses a wide variety of organisations includinglarge corporates, owner-managed businesses, property developers and investors,many of whom we have had a close on-going relationship with for a number ofyears. Ourpractice is extensive and wide ranging covering a wealth of banking expertise. Wehave one of the most active private equity and acquisition finance offerings inthe market, with experience of acting for private equity houses, managementteams and debt funders (including banks and speciality debt funds) across anumber of debt structures).

Wealso have an extensive real estate finance practice, with experience in realestate acquisitions, investments and developments and managing extensiveportfolios with relationships with various lenders, major house builders anddevelopers across a range of sectors. Wehave experience in specialist work for asset-based lenders. As well as actingfor many ABL funders in the market, our breadth of experience and knowledge ofeach funder's requirements means that we are also able to act

The person

Thesuccessful candidate will be confident liaising with colleagues, clients andexternal parties, proactively organising and managing diaries and taking thelead on tasks to ensure an exceptional and seamless secretarial supportservice.

Inparticular we look for the following attributes:

  • At least three to five years' previouslegal secretary experience is essential.
  • Experience within a professional servicesenvironment is highly desirable.
  • Experience and competence in:
  • Typing, drafting and producing documentsefficiently and accurately.
  • Document management - to include generatingdocuments using Word, Power Point and Excel.
  • Experience completing manuscriptamendments.
  • General secretarial tasks that may varydepending on workload and capacity - to include compliance tasks as required.
  • Diary management, ideally including traveland event booking.
  • First class, confident communicationskills, both written and verbal.
  • Excellent levels of accuracy.
  • Capability to prioritise and multitaskeffectively, with good time management and organisational skills.
  • Willing to continually learn and adapt tonew procedures.
  • Ability to take initiative andself-motivate.
  • Experience of working under pressure totight deadlines while remaining calm.
  • Always demonstrate discretion and maintainabsolute confidentiality.
  • IT skills - Microsoft Word, MicrosoftExcel, dictation, typing, formatting and editing PDF documents.
