Job Description
Legal Cashier Full Time Office Based Walsall A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Legal Cashier to join its Finance Team at its Head Office in Walsall. This is a full-time, office-based role working Monday to Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm. The Role You will play a key role in supporting the firm's financial operations and ensuring full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. This position requires at least 2-3 years' experience as a Legal Cashier within a law firm. Key Responsibilities
- Receiving client payments (in person and by telephone) and issuing receipts
- Monitoring HSBCnet for incoming funds and allocating to client ledgers
- Preparing and banking daily receipts
- Posting receipts and payments to client and office ledgers
- Preparing Priority and BACS payments
- Processing cheque requests via the Case Management System
- Preparing client ledger breakdowns and time reports
- Checking completion statements
- Processing client and purchase ledger invoices
- Preparing payment runs
- Producing weekly new matter reports for Heads of Department
- Providing support and cover within the Finance Team when required
- 2-3 years' experience as a Legal Cashier in a law firm
- Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Strong Excel and general IT skills
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
