Opportunity OverviewThis is your chance to collaborate with EY's international teams in the U.S. and Canada. You'll be involved in supporting immigration matters and projects, gaining real exposure to cross-border legal practices.
Key ResponsibilitiesAs a Legal Associate, your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting the immigration team with U.S. and Canadian immigration case preparation.
- Learning various visa categories and legal criteria, and applying that knowledge to individual case files.
- Drafting immigration petitions and packages tailored to the legal requirements and facts of each case.
- Editing and revising documents for accuracy and compliance.
- Managing case files within designated digital workspaces.
- Using legal tech tools to streamline case management and document handling.
- Collaborating regularly with global EY teams.
- Tracking progress, reporting to seniors, understanding performance metrics, and taking ownership of assigned tasks.
We're looking for candidates who are:
- Detail-oriented with excellent legal writing and research capabilities.
- Proficient in English with strong grammar, style, and formatting skills.
- Able to work efficiently under tight deadlines and high volumes.
- Proactive, organized, and collaborative in team environments.
- Clear and confident communicators, both written and verbal.
- A law degree (LLB or equivalent).
- 0-3 years of legal work experience.
- Familiarity with MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and PDF tools.
- Previous work related to U.S. or Canadian immigration law.
- Experience in drafting, proofreading, and editing legal documents.
- Background in dynamic, high-paced corporate environments.
