Job Description
Job Title: Legal Assistant (Residential Conveyancing)Location: HarrogateSalary: £23,000 - £29,500 per annumHours: Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm Are you an organised and proactive individual with experience in Residential Conveyancing, looking to join a supportive legal team? If so, this could be the opportunity for you! Our client is seeking someone who is reliable, detail oriented and motivated to provide high quality administrative support within the Conveyancing department. Key Responsibilities as Legal Assistant (Residential Conveyancing):
- Manage client matters promptly and accurately using the case management system, ensuring full compliance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare, organise and archive legal files along with all supporting documentation.
- Oversee diary management for the Fee Earner including scheduling client appointments and coordinating meetings as needed.
- Produce client correspondence via audio typing, word processing or digital dictation.
- Handle telephone calls, enquiries and requests from clients and third parties professionally and efficiently.
- Take responsibility for incoming emails, post, photocopying and other day to day administrative tasks.
- Arrange property searches and complete required client ID verification checks.
- Assist with the preparation and progression of exchanges and completions, under the direction of the Fee Earner.
- Manage Land Registry processes including registering completed properties and undertaking necessary follow up actions.
- Prepare client bills and maintain account ledgers accurately.
- Provide support to fellow assistants and the management team as needed.
- Previous experience (1 years+) in legal administration within Residential Conveyancing.
- Excellent verbal communication.
- Strong written communication.
- Experience of Audio Typing.
- Highly organised with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
- Strong IT proficiency including Microsoft Office.
