Background

We are proud to have been one of the first optometry schools in the world, having started teaching technical optics in 1898 and delivering full-time courses for optometrists since 1927.

Our team comprises academic colleagues from a broad range of disciplines, including optometry, orthoptics, biology, physics, psychology and mathematics. Our strong and positive relationships with ophthalmology departments and leading optometrists allow us to pull together an outstanding team of academics, visiting clinical tutors and guest lecturers for our programmes.

Responsibilities

This is an exciting new appointment with City St George's, University London, School of Health and Medical Sciences, with strong links to clinical practice. It brings together one of the leading academic institutions in health sciences teaching and research with quality care for families, children, and communities. The candidate will contribute to curriculum and educational development through the integration of scholarship, and professional activities with support for learning.

Person Specification

We are seeking to appoint a Lecturer who has research and experience of teaching within this field. As a Lecturer, the postholder will provide high quality education at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
